Policies and Procedures

Schedule:
Winnfield Senior High School Media Center is available for students and teachers to use according to instructional need rather than to meet a predetermined schedule. the media center serves the teachers, students, and learning needs of the school and is open each instructional day from 7:35 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. The center is available for classes as well as individual students. The center uses flexible scheduling and cooperative planning with teachers.
 
 
Rules:
  1. Students may check out two books at a time for a period of two weeks. Books may be renewed once.
  2. Students with overdue/lost materials may only use materials in the library and will not be permitted to take AR tests or check out additional items until the overdue/lost items are paid for or returned.
  3. Food, drinks, and gum will not be permitted in the library.
  4. Keep noise to a minimum.
  5. Leave the library as you found it.
 
Circulation:
Patrons will present materials to be checked out at the circulation desk. Items that may be borrowed from the circulating collection include:
 
Books

Overnight materials

Items that may not be borrowed from the library's collection include:

Videos/DVDs
Videos/DVDs and carts with TVs and VCR/DVD players and TV are available for checkout by teachers only.
 
Periodicals
The current issues of the periodicals are placed on the magazine shelf across the room from the circulation desk in the library. These are for LIBRARY USE ONLY. *Faculty members who wish to use non-circulating items in the classroom may borrow them on a special arrangement with the librarian.
 
 
 
Lost/Damaged Books:
  1. Students must pay the cost of the lost library book (charges vary).
  2. Students who return damaged books will be assessed charges depending on type of damage.
 
Fines:
  1. Ten cents a day for overdue books.
  2. Ten cents an hour for overnight materials.
