Setting Internet Proxy Instructions

 

Internet Explorer 5.0 or better

Open Internet Explorer

Click Tools, Internet Options, the Connections tab, LAN Settings

Place a check in the “Use automatic configuration script” box

In the address box type http://www.winnpsb.org/wpad.dat

Click the OK button and you’re finished!

 

NOTE: If for some reason the connections tab isn’t there or the LAN Settings Button is grayed out, then do the following: Start>Run>“\\198.3.95.34\downloads” Locate and run “unlockie.reg” (note: some systems my not display the .reg extension). Click on yes you want to import and then click ok.  Now you should be able to complete the directions as stated.

 

Internet Explorer 4.0

Open Internet Explorer

Click View, Internet Options, the Connection tab

Place a check in the “Access the Internet using a proxy server” box

Address:  proxy64.nls.k12.la.us

Port:  80

Click the OK button and you’re finished!

 

Netscape 6.0

Open Netscape

Click Edit, Preferences, double click Advanced, and then click Proxies

Select Manual Proxy Configuration

Type the following address and port in the appropriate boxes

**Use the same address and port for all protocols except SOCKS**

Address:  proxy64.nls.k12.la.us

Port:  80

 

Netscape 4.0

Open Netscape

Click Edit, Preferences, double click Advanced, and then click Proxies

Select Manual Proxy Configuration and then click View

Type the following address and port in the appropriate boxes
